Regenerative Biomaterials Launches Inaugural Call for Young Editorial Board Members
Regenerative Biomaterials (RB), the official English journal of the Chinese Society for Biomaterials (CSBM), is pleased to announce its inaugural call for Young Editorial Board Members. The journal is published in collaboration with Oxford University Press and was launched in 2014.

Journal Metrics & Indexing
Regenerative Biomaterials is indexed in Scopus, SCI-E, PubMed Central, DOAJ, Ei, and CSCD. Its 2024 Impact Factor is 8.1, ranking Q1 in the JCR category of Materials Science, Biomaterials. In 2019, the journal was selected as a "High‑Starting Point New Journal" under the "Action Plan for Excellence in Chinese Scientific and Technological Journals". It has also been recognized as a "Most Influential International Academic Journal in China" for two consecutive years (2022 and 2023).
Call for Young Editorial Board Members
To leverage the creativity of young scientists, provide a high‑quality platform for communication and presentation in biomaterials research, and cultivate future members of the editorial board, Regenerative Biomaterials is now recruiting its first cohort of Young Editorial Board Members globally. Outstanding young scholars are cordially invited to apply.
1. Eligibility Criteria
l Applicants must be enthusiastic about scholarly service and willing to invest time and effort in article solicitation, submission, and peer review for the journal.
l Applicants should hold a PhD degree and have a position of assistant professor or above. Age ≤45 years (exceptions may be made for exceptionally qualified candidates).
l In the past five years, applicants should have published at least three English papers as first author or corresponding author in areas closely aligned with the journal's scope.
l Research areas should match the scope of Regenerative Biomaterials.
l Preference will be given to applicants who have led national‑level research projects, have been recognized in talent programs, or have overseas research experience.
2. Responsibilities
l Assist the editors in article solicitation and participate in peer review activities.
l Contribute or invite at least one high‑quality research or review article per year.
l Actively attend Young Editorial Board meetings; support and participate in academic conferences organized or co‑organized by the journal; provide suggestions for the journal’s development and promotion.
l Promote the journal through social media, academic conferences, and other channels; help solicit and publicize articles.
l Contribute to enhancing the academic and international impact of the journal.
l Perform other tasks that improve the quality and influence of the journal.
3. Term and Benefits
l Appointed Young Editorial Board Members will receive an official certificate from the RB Editorial Office, and the appointment will be announced on the journal’s website. The inaugural term is two years. Membership will be dynamically reviewed based on annual performance; outstanding contributors may be reappointed.
l APC discount during the term.
l Opportunity to organize academic special issues or conference proceedings with editorial assistance.
l High‑quality accepted manuscripts may be recommended for the cover of the journal’s domestic print edition.
l Opportunity to organize or co‑organize academic conferences/events sponsored by CSBM or the journal, enhancing personal academic visibility.
l Eligible for annual "Outstanding Young Editorial Board Member" awards, with recognition (certificate, featured coverage on the CSBM and journal homepages).
l As a talent pool for future editorial board members, outstanding Young Editorial Board Members may be recommended for promotion to the regular editorial board upon committee approval, based on their contributions.
4. How to Apply and Selection Process
Applicants must complete the "Regenerative Biomaterials Young Editorial Board Member Application Form" and send it to the RB Editorial Office at rb@csbm.org.cn by August 30, 2025.
